I took Paxton to the doctors office today for his 6 month visit. I can't believe how big he has gotten. He is 20 lbs and 4 ounces! He is 29 inches long! I know I couldn't believe it. He is in the 96% for height and 90% for weight. He just loved playing with the paper on the table. She was really surprised on how much he has changed and how well his motor skills have improved. She also was really impressed with how well he sits up and is trying to crawl. Wow time flies I can believe he is 6 months.
Every year right before Halloween, Brandon's family has a big party. Everybody has to carve pumpkins. So this year Brandon carved a skull(which he always picks something hard and time consuming.) And I just carved a happy face which took me about 1/4 of the time. We also bob for apples and have a fire outside. Paxton wanted to bob for apples too, but instead which just let him suck on one. And as a tradition all of the grandkids sit with their pumpkins for an annual family picture. I have insisted on that Brandon and I are too old but they said that we still fall in the grandkids category. They also have a popcorn maker which Paxton was intrigued over. He kept putting his hands in there and trying to get popcorn out. We had a lot of fun though and it was alot funner this year since we have Paxton to enjoy it with.
I took Paxton over to my mom's house and she has a lot of leaves in her front yard. So I took Paxton and let him play in them. I couldn't get him to stop playing with them, in fact I could barely get him to look up at me so I could take a picture. He is 6 months old today, I can't believe how fast time goes!
Ok so if you have ever been to the MTC with anybody you know how hard it is to say goodbye. We took my brother Derek to the MTC last wednesday, and I was a complete wreck. My brother and I are really close and anybody who knows me well enough knows it doesn't take much to get me to cry. So when I say I cried would be an understatement. But he is doing great already and we have gotten two letters which is so much fun. I can't believe that when he gets back Paxton will be 2 1/2 and talking and running all over the place. And who knows I will probably be pregnant. All of that is so weird for me to think, I just want Paxton to stay little forever.
Were so happy that we were able to spend one last birthday with my brother Derek. He turned 19 four days before he went into the MTC. Paxton thought it was great to help his uncle open presents, because he loves paper so much. We are so lucky to have such a great family.
A couple of weeks ago we took Paxton on his first camping trip. We caught alot of fish and Paxton seemed to think that was great. He loved being outside and sitting by the fire. This was our last family vacation with my family before my brother Derek leaves on his mission. We went to Joes Valley and the weather was great. It was great to be with my whole family and my sweet husband.
Paxton is always wanting to be wherever daddy is, and do whatever daddy is doing. He is daddy's little buddy in everything he is doing.
We brought his exersaucer along, which was a lifesaver because he played in it alot.
Brandon and I met when he was 16 and I was 15. We dated on and off for 5 years, and finally got married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 16, 2005. We bought a house in sandy and we have two dogs. We have to cute boys! Paxton Jay Emery who was born on April 25, 2008 and Aiden Jay Emery who was born on November 16, 2010. They are the greatest joys of our life we love them both so much.
